First steps

Time for an update..... well, today I made my first step.... a small step for humanity, but a big step for Liam!

Swimming

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday was the first day that Ireally put my head under water when swimming - it was amazing, and I had lots of fun. Well, it has taken me six month of swimming lessons to get to this stage, so Mama and Papa were very excited about it.

As many of you know, lots of other exciting things have happened in my life recently, and I hope that Papa finds time soon to tell you about it...!

I am Liam!

OK, until now this has been my sister's blog, but be aware: I am now here, and I've got something to say as well - well, not yet, but soon.

At the moment I actually don't have a clue where I am and what "here" means, but as long as my basic needs are fulfilled, I might be happy - or at least quite.....

And by the way - I am rather popular - have a look at all the people who have come to visit me!

Me and My Brother

The time after Liam was born wasn't that much fun for me. Mama had to go back to the hospital after only two days at home with some sort of disease.

But Oma was here to play with me, and every evening I drove with my Papa and my Oma to the hospital so that I could see my brother (and my Mama...).

A Night with Cheryl....

... well, it was actually a day and a night - the night my brother was born.

Yesterday, my mom had to go to the hospital because Liam decided that he couldn't wait any longer to meet me. So she called Cheryl, who canceled her ski trip to come and be with me while Mama and Papa went to the hospital.

Though for some reason, Liam then decided that he did not want to  meet me that soon, so he waited until I went to sleep before he was born. He was born at 3:15 am on Sunday 24 January at the University Hospital of Geneva. He was 4,13 kg (9.1 lbs) and 53 cm (20 in).

Vacation is ending...

One good thing about going to school is that you have lots of vacation! My mom stayed home this time around and did lots of stuff with me... that was good, because it also allowed her to help me draw a picture and a T-Shirt for Papa's birthday!

We started out vacation last weekend by going to Signal de Bougy, a big play area in the Jura. I went there with Emma, and tried to do some climbing - worked pretty well for about 2 minutes, but then I go scared.... and while Mama stayed with Emma, who went through the whole parcours, I went with Papa to the playground.

Today it is raining, and it is supposed to be raining all weekend long... though it doesn't matter that much: Tomorrow I will go to a birthday party, so who cares about the weather!

Though the bad news is that I've got to go back to school on Monday :-(

I am still small...

It might have been a while since I used the baby-carriage part of the smaller - I guess about three years or so - but see: I still fit!

My mom brought up the stroller to clean it because she wants to sell it, and I did have fun playing with it - one last time...

Dora's tent

Can you believe that my Papa and I both fit into my Dora tent at the same time? It's a really big tent you know....

My Mom's Birthday!

While there is no tradition in my Mom's family to celebrate birthday's once you get to be a grown-up, she nevertheless decided to celebrate. She invited more than 50 people, and I think that was very happy that only half of them showed up.

I was even allowed to stay for a little bit, together with Marilena and Emma. And Christiane, Marilena's mother, and Miriam, Inaki's mother, gave a concert for my mom! But then we had to leave, and I spend the night at Emma's place. Though I was told that the party went on until very very late, and my Mom was nice enough to wait for me the next day before opening the presents...

Me, the hat, and Cherryl

Hats can be lots of fun! You probably know that I really like purses - no wonder given that my mom has two big drawers full of them - but I really like hats as well.

Today I went over to Cherryl's - she is going to play with me from now on when Mom goes to the quire - and today we had lots of fun with, well, hats....

I guess I will enjoy these visits to Cherryl.... :-)

Princess Lillie!

Tonight was really really fun. My godmother Cherryl came over to baby-sit me... and my parents went out to the movies.

And you know what she did? She drew me in my princess costume! Isn't it just great? (And my parents were very happy to be able to go out without me....!)

And she said that she will come over to play with me (and baby-sit me) about once a month - I am already looking forward to the next time!

Chamonix...

Do you believe that I went up up up into the mountains again? And this time it was much higher than last time in the Jura - I went to the Mont Blanc.... Together with my friend Marilena, her Papa, and my Papa, we went on a 5 hour hike up there...

Of course, my Papa had to carry me for half of the time, and the two Papas became a bit stressed later in the evening when it got late and we were still far away from the lift down. This is when they decided to stray from the hiking path and take a short cut through open fields... though it turned out to not be a shortcut: We had to go through large area with big stones and rocks, and while our Papas were trying to ensure that nobody had an accident, we had lots of fun jumping from and over all the rocks.... I want to go again soon!

Life gets serious....

... unbelievable but true: I am going to school now! So it's not fun and games anymore.... lots of new kids, and I hope that at least some of them are nice...

My teacher is an older lady, and she seems to be pretty strict... we are about 12 in the class, but then we are in a class with older kids, so in total we are about 25.... while I am looking forward to knowing a bit more about all the things that they are to learn, I am also a bit afraid. Luckily, my mom doesn't know that I will be crying when she drops me off for the next two weeks :-)

The only good thing is that I am spending my lunch break with Inaki - he's one of my best friends from the creche, though unfortunately he is in a different class.

Any you know what? I am called Lillie Siena at school as there is already a Lily....

In the mountains!

Yeah, the weather is so nice, we simply had to go to the mountains. We couldn't walk that far though - it's already difficult for my mom. But we found a very nice spot for a pick-nick, and played lots with Dakota.

And on the way back, I convinced Papa to go on the slummer sledge with me. Luckily, I had just turned 4, which is the minimum age for the sledge.

Though Papa went to slow - I guess he ket his foot on the break all the time - while I wanted to go as faaaaast as possible - and as often as possible...

Birthday IV

Yet another birthday party - but this time it was the "real" one... At home wi9th my very best friends! It was smaller than last year's, but the reason was to really have fun with the kids I like best - especially since I won't see them that often anymore in the future... :-(

Man on the Moon!

Before flying back home to Germany, we did something rather boring: We went to the Kennedy Space Center... My Papa was quite interested in it, and I guess that he wanted me to experience something else than just princesses... I've got to say that I'd rather went to some other place, though the Space Center became interesting once I saw this big rocket, which was really big!

Disney World & Birthday III

You know where I celebrated my real birthday? At Disney World! That was a present by my Mom and my Papa. We went there early in the morning, and I got a sticker that said that it was my birthday. So lots of people who met me throughout the day wished me a happy birthday! It, however, got quite annoying after a while because Mama and Papa always told me to say "Thanks you", so I took the sticker off...

More importantly, however, was that I got to meet all the Princesses.... I was quite shy to start out with - which is probably not surprising - just think about it: Real princesses! And I got to look like a princess myself: I got make-up, my hair was done, and I selected a dress and shoes. And do you know which princess I wanted to be? Snow White! That was quite a surprise to my Mama as usually Cinderella is my most favorite princess.

We went back to Disney World the next day, and I had breakfast with all the princesses. And because it was my birthday the day before, I received a card with all the autographs of all the princesses. Though I was very tired because of the previous day, and it was very hot to start out with, so Papa had to carry me all day long - and I slept through the fireworks.....

Back at the hotel the next day, I enjoyed the swimming pool, where I met another older girl to play with.

Santa Fe & Birtday II

Wow - I finally saw my grandparents again - and Auntie Heather, and Coco the dog and all the cats! We went to visit them in Santa Fe, which was really exciting.... We did lots of fun things like going to a Children's Museum, the swimming pool, various playgrounds and a fair where you could see how people lived a hundred years ago, and a place where the Indians live a few hundred years ago

I did miss other kids though, and we only met a few from time to time at playgrounds.... I think that I am getting into an age where being with Mom & Papa can be quite boring.... However, it was lots of fun to play dress-up with Grandma and Mom, and then Grandma found all the old Barbies that my Mom played with when she was really young.

But we also had another Birthday party for me - just a day before my birthday!

Do you guys know where I am? I am in the US visiting granpa and
grandma and Auntie Heather!

It was a long flight, and I got to watch lots of TV. And in
Washington, I meet my friend Oback Obama.

So far it is good, and it is really great seeing them in person
instead of on the computer. Though at the moment I am still very
jetlagged. While I remain in my usual good mood, my sleeping pattern
is completely out of sync. Today I woke my Papa at 5am, and now it is
afternoon and I am still going strong. Guess it will be an early night
for me today.

My Birthday I

Today I had my first birthday party.... of quite a few.... I guess I will never have as many birthday parties as I'll be having this year. But this one was probably also the saddest one, as I will have to say good-bye to all my friends from the Creche shortly. While I will be seeing my best friends again in the future, there will be a number of kids that I will see only rarely....
