Do you know what's starting today? The European Soccer Cup! It's taking place in Switzerland, and my Papa was really excited about it - he got all dressed up in German colors to watch the opening match somewhere - without me.....

Marilena's Birthday

I was at Marilena's birtday today - she is my best friends! She goes to the kindergarten with me, and we are always looking out for each other.

While she is German and her parents speak German with her, Marilena and I always talk in French - after all, that's the language that we are using in Kindergarten as well!

Fete de l'Ecole

I went to my first Fete de l'Ecole! That's a festival the the kids here in Grand Saconnex have at the end of the school year. This year, I was not allowed to participate in the parade as I am still to small, but I nevertheless could go onto all the rides.

Most fun was of course riding on the horses, though the big swing was great as well! I went there with my friend Emma, and we even got our faces painted!

I am really looking forward to next year, when I can take part in the parade as well!

"Why are you walking Dakota?"

Yes, friends, I am growing up... After nagging my parents with "What is...?" questions for the past months, I am now getting into the "Why...?" questions... And I started this morning with my first one: "Why are you walking Dakota, papa?". I should have know the answer because my papa explained it to me a number of times, plus I've been walking Dakota myself... But I figure that today was the day to switch from "What?" to "Why?", and this was simply the first thing that offered me the opportunity to ask a "Why?" question... This means that my parents have to read up on lots of stuff to ensure that they can actually respond to my questions... And papa is glad to work for a forest certification organization - one more motivation for him to actually learn about trees....

In the zoo

See what's there! It's a bear! Yes, you guess correctly: We went to the zoo!

I really like going there and seeing all the animals!

Though the bear wasn't nice: I dropped my pacifier into his enclosure, and he ate it! If he had used it like I do, I wouldn't have minded sharing it, but eating my pacifier is simply a waste!
