Father's Day/Vatertag

Today's Father's Day! I am not sure what that is, but Mommy gave Papa lots of presents in my name.... staff for his Nintendo Wii. He was excited about it, and would have wanted to try everything out right away.

But instead, we went into the city and met Dean & Karen Edstrom, old friend's of my grandparents. They are really nice people, and we had lunch on a boat on Lake Geneva. This was the first boat ride that I can remember; it's just like being in a restaruant, just that the restaurant is on the water.

Though it was very nice playing with Dean and Karen, and later on walking with them through the city. Hope they're coming to visit me again!

Heute war Vatertag! Ich weiss nich genau, was es ist, aber Mutti hat Papa ganz viele Geschenke in meinem Namen gegeben... Zeug's für seine Nintendo Wii. Er hat sich darüber sehr gefreut, und wollte direkt alles ausprobieren.

Stattdessen sind wir aber in die Stadt gefahren und haben Dean und Karen Edstrom getroffen, alte Freunde meiner Grosseltern. Das sind wirklich nette Leute, und wir haben auf einem Boot auf dem Genfer See zu Mittag gegessen. Das war die erste Bootsfahrt, and die ich mich erinnern kann; es ist, als wäre man in einem normalen Restaurant, nur das es eben auf dem Wasser ist.

Aber es war schön, mit Dean und Karen zu spielen und mit Ihnen später durch die Stadt zu gehen. Ich hoffe, dass Sie mal wieder vorbeikommen.

A birthday! Ein Geburtstag!

I went to a birthday party yesterday. Emma turned three! And I was amazed by what I'll be able to do in a little more than one year from now.

The party was fun, too. We went to this playground on the top of a shopping center here in Geneva - though there were almost too many kids for my taste.... But it was a good to have fun as I'd had a difficult week. You might think that I should be able to walk without any problems by now, but for some reason I managed twice to fall over headfirst and injure my lips.... Pretty scary for my parents, seeing all the blood coming out of my mouth... I really need to be more careful!

Ich war gestern auf einer Geburtstagsfeier. Emma is drei geworden - und ich war überrascht, zu sehern, was ich in etwas mehr als einem Jahr alles machen werde können.

Die Party war auch klasse - wir waren auf einem Spielplatz auf dem Dach eines Shoppigcenters - mit vielen Hüpfburgen und so.. aber es gab dort fast zu viele Kinder für meinen Geschmack.

Aber es war gut, Spass zu haben, da ich eine schwierige Woche hatte. Man sollte eigentlich annehmen, dass ich mittlerweile gut Laufen kann - aber ich habe es doch geschafft, gleich zweimal kopfüber zu fallen und mir die Lippen aufzuschlagen... Meine Eltern waren natürlich sehr erschrocken, das ganze Blut aus meinem Mund strömen zu sehen... Ich muss wirklich etwas vorsichtiger sein!

... was here.... I was very excited when I found out that she was coming, and my Mama and I went to Lake Como with her... Though we had trouble finding it and got lost in Milan. My Mama even called my Papa to ask for help, but he, being in Geneva, was no help at all - and I thought Papa could do everything.

We took lots of pictures of the lake, and had a few very nice days there....

Ohr? Tor?

I've been learning a lot of new words in the past few weeks. Since my Papa is writing all of this, I can only tell you about the German words I've been learning... This includes the German words for duck, fish, ball, bucket, and flower.

Though I've got problems as well - I simply cannot distinguish between "Ohr" (ear) and "Tor" (goal). So whenever I read these soccer book with my Papa and he asks where the goal is, I point to my ear... but I guess I'll learn the difference sometime.

And I've found the cutest way to say "bitte" (please) - my Papa simply cannot resist when I say it... so I've got lots of yogurt these past few days...

No pictures though at the moment. Papa's computer crashed, and installed all the stuff that he needs for work first.

Ich habe in den letzten Tagen viele neue Wörter gelernt. Da mein Papa nur Deutsch mit mir spricht, kann ich natürlich nur über die deutschen Wörter berichten, die ich gelernt habe. Da wären also Ente, Fisch, Ball, Eimer und Blumen.

Aber ich habe auch ein paar Probleme: Ich kann einfach nicht zwischen "Tor" und "Ohr" unterscheiden. Wenn ich mit Papa das Fussballbuch lese und er mich fragt, wo das Tor ist, zeige ich zu meinem Ohr... aber ich denke, dass ich den Unterschied irgendwann einmal lernen werde.

Und ich habe den süssesten Weg gefunden, "bitte" zu sagen - Papa kann mir dann einfach nicht widerstehen, und so habe ich in den letzten Tagen sehr viel Jogurt zu essen bekommen.

Im Moment gibt es keine neuen Fotos. Der Computer ist kaputtgegangen, und jetzt hat Papa erst einmal alle Programme installiert, die er zum arbeiten braucht...
