Still small... noch immer klein....

Last week wasn't that great. First, I got a bit sick. My papa was sick before, and then my mommy got sick - and then I got sick. Though I was still lucky - it lasted only a few days. Mommy and papa were sick for much longer!

Then I went to the doctor - and he told me that I am still small: 30.1 inches and 20 pounds - which puts me into the smallest 3% of all toddlers in Switzerland. The good news, however, is that I've got the correct length/weight ratio: I am neither to fat nor to thin...

And then papa wasn't home... he went to a place called Copenhagen for a business trip, and then took two days off to see the city. He said that it wasn't that great - snowy and very cold. I can tell you that I was very happy when he came back!

Letzte Woche war nicht so doll. Erst war ich krank. Papa war vorher schon krank, dann wurde Mami krank, und letztlich wurde ich krank. Gluecklicherweise aber nur für ein paar Tage - Mama und Papa waren viel länger krank.

Dann war ich beim Doktor. Und der sagte mir, dass ich noch immer klein bin: 76.5 cm gross und 9.1 kg schwer. Damit gehöre ich zu den kleinsten 3% meiner Altersklasse. Dafür ist jedoch das Verhältnis von Grösse und Gewicht völlig in Ordnung: Ich bin weder zu dick noch zu dünn.

Und dann ist Papa weggewesen. Er war an so einem Ort, den er Kopenhagen genannt hat. War auf Geschäftsreise und ist dann noch ein paar Tage länger geblieben. Papa sagte aber, dass es nicht so toll war - es hat geschneit und war sehr kalt. Und ich kann Euch sagen, dass ich ziemlich froh bin, dass er wieder da ist!

My new hat - Meine neue Mütze

<Do you see my new hat? I got it from sailor.... She was over here in Geneva last weekend, and we were supposed to go skiing.

Well, my parents and sailor were supposed to go skiing, while I was supposed to go to a creche.

So they went through all the effort of reserving a creche spot for me, getting the ski out of the basement, and driving up to Flaine.... and then it was closed!

There was enough snow, but it was difficult to see much and lots of wind! Well, at least I got to play in the snow a bit... I am no longer afraid of snow, but I am still can't figure out what it is good for. Well, skiing obviously, but honestly: I don't know what that is....

We then went to a restaurant, and I had a good lunch: Pizza, spagetthi, garlic bread and salad. Oh, and I learned my first German word: It's Auto!

Habt Ihr schon meine neue Mütze gesehen? Ich habe sie von Sailor bekommen. Sie war hier in Genf am letzten Wochenede, und wir wollten eigentlich skifahren gehen.

Nun, meine Eltern wolltne skifahren, während ich in die Kindergrippe gegangen wäre.

Wir hatten also alles organisiert: Meine Eltern haben einen Grippenplatz für mich organisiert, die Ski aus dem Keller geholt, und wir sind den ganzen weiten Weg nach Faline gefahre. Und dann war es geschlossen.

Es gab zwar viel Schnee, aber man konnte nicht viel sehen, und es war sehr windig. Zumindest konnte ich ein bisschen im Schnee spielen! Ich habe jetzt keine Angst mehr vor Schnee, ich weiss aber immer noch nicht, wozu er gut ist. Man kann wohl darauf skifahren, aber ich habe keine Ahnung, was skifahren eigentlich ist...

Wir sind dann in ein Restaurant gegangen, und ich hatte Pizza, Spagetthi, Knowblauchbrot und Salat.

Oh, und ich habe mein erstes deutsches Wort gelernt: Auto!

Stones! Steine!

I went to Zurich last weekend with my Papa so that my Mama could have a whole weekend by herself. We visited my godmother, who is also going by the nickname of "Sailor" - I still need to figure out why!!!

I really enjoyed being in Zurich, and I think that Mama enjoyed having some "me-time". It was sunny, and on Sunday it was even quite warm. So Papa and my godmother went down to Lake Zurich to take a walk.

And I discovered the most amazing thing: Stones. Some are big, some are small, some are very small, sand ome are so big that I cannot even carry them! And the come in all kinds of different colors and shapes. I spent a long time exploring all these different stones - it was amazing.

Now I just need to figure out whether they have stones in Geneva as well, or whether I need to wait until I go to Zurich next time to continue my explorations....

Ich war letzte Woche in Zürich mit Papa, damit meine Mama mal ein Wochenede für sich selber haben konnte. Wir haben meine Patentante besucht, die auch "Sailor" (Seemann) genannt wird. Ich muss noch herausfinden, warum....

Ich habe es wirklich gemocht, in Zürich zu sein, und ich glaube, dass Mama ihre "Ich-Zeit" wirklich genossen hat.

Und ich habe was Fantastisches entdeckt: Steine! Es gibt grosse und kleine und sehr kleine Steine, und einige sind so gross, dass ich sie gar nicht tragen kann! Und es gibt sie in allen möglichen Formen und Farben. Ich habe einige Zeit darauf verwenden können, all diese Steine näher zu erkunden - es war klasse.

Jetzt muss ich nur noch herausfinden, ob es auch in Genf Steine gibt, oder ob ich warten muss, bis ich wieder in Zürich bin, um meine Erkundungen fortzusetzen.

Gallo! Gallo!

Have I ever told you about "Gallo"? No? Well, it's something I've been saying for the past two weeks or so... trouble is: My parents don't have any clue what it means! This word doesn't seem to exist in neither English, French nor German. And worse: I don't have any clue what it means, though it sounds nice... So if anybody got any idea, let me know....

Habe ich Euch schon von "Gallo" erzählt? Nein? Nun, es ist ein Wort, das ich seit zwei Wochen sage... Das Problem ist: Meine Eltern haben keine Idee, was es bedeutet! Das Wort scheint weder in Englisch, Französich noch auf Deutsch zu existieren. Und schlimmer: Ich habe keine Ahnung, was es bedeuten soll, aber es hört sich klasse an... Also, wenn jemand weiss, was es bedeuten könnte, lasst es mich wissen....

I am going to a wedding! Ich gehe auf eine Hochzeit!

Just got an e-mail: My god-mother Cherryl is going to get married. Yippie! She's marrying Nick. They've been together for quite some time, and it is fantastic that they doing this.... because now I've got to go to a wedding! It'll be my first one, and my mom will for sure buy me a nice dress! And there will be lots of stuff to eat, and lots of dancing - and I simply love dancing..... it will be lots of fun!

Ich habe gerade eine E-mail bekommen. Meine Patentante Cherryl heiratet. Sie wird Nick heiraten, mit dem sie schon eine ganze Zeit zusammen ist - es ist klasse, dass sie sich endlich zu diesem Schritt entschlossen haben. Und nun kann ich zu einer Hochzeit gehen - es ist meine Erste, und Mami wird mir bestimmt was Schönes anziehen. Und es wird eine Menge zum Essen geben und viel getanzt werde - ich liebe tanzen! Es wird viel Spass machen!
